To access the SCSI ID database and identify SCSI hard drives, Sanitizer uses the Advanced SCSI Programming Interface (ASPI) drivers. Normally, ASPI drivers come with your host adapter software kit. If you have SCSI host adapters, you must perform a simple procedure to get Sanitizer to work with your specific host adapter and its SCSI hard drives.
Note: This procedures works only with Pinion Sanitizer floppies, as you will need to create a simple config.sys file. If you are using a Sanitizer CD, contact Pinion Software so we can include the required host adapter drivers on the CD for you.
Locate the host adapter driver for your SCSI hard
drive and copy it to the Sanitizer floppy.
Create a text file called config.sys on the floppy and include the following text in it:
DEVICE=ASPINAME.SYS
where ASPINAME is the name of the host adapter driver.
Note:If you have more than one host adapter, add a DEVICE=ASPINAME.SYS entry for each corresponding ASPI driver.
Reboot your machine with the Sanitizer disk in the floppy drive.
Pinion Sanitizer will then be able to read and sanitize your SCSI hard drive.
