At Pinion Software, we are committed to protecting your privacy and to developing technology that gives you the most complete and continuous control over your electronic information. You can visit most of our site without giving us any of your personal information. In some cases though, we do need information to provide information or services that you request, and this statement of privacy explains data collection and use in those situations. Please read the complete statement.
Collecting your Personal Information
Pinion Software may ask you for information that personally identifies you (personal information) or allows us to contact you. Generally, this information is required when you request to download Pinion Receiver, a trial version of our product, or product information, as well as purchase or register Pinion Software products. Personal information required by Pinion Software is limited to name, company name, email address, and state or country location, and optionally may include other information that will help us to respond to provide the service you requested. For example, if you choose to make a purchase from our Web site, we will request personal information such as name, address, telephone number, credit card number and shipping information. When you buy and install a new product, we may ask you to register your purchase electronically. When you do, we keep this registration information on file with any information you've already given us on previous visits to our Web site.
Personal Information
Pinion Software uses your personal information for two primary purposes:
- To help us create and deliver the information, product, or service that is most relevant to you
- To alert you to product upgrades, special offers, updated information and other new services from Pinion Software
Pinion will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:
- (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Pinion Software;
- (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Pinion Software and its Web sites, and
- (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Pinion Software products, its Web sites, or the public.
Control of your Personal Information
When you register, or otherwise give us personal information, Pinion Software will not share that information with third parties without your permission, other than for the limited exceptions already listed. It will only be used for the purposes stated above. Pinion Software may send out periodic e-mail informing you of technical service issues, enhancements, or other announcements related to a product or service you requested.
Security of your Personal Information
Pinion Software strictly protects the security of your personal information and honors your choices for its intended use. We carefully protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Your personal information is never shared outside the company without your permission, except under conditions explained above. Inside the company, data is stored in password-controlled servers with limited access.

Use of Cookies
To ensure that we are publishing content that customers need and want, Pinion Software collects aggregated site-visitation statistics using cookies. We do not track individuals' use of the site. When someone visits the site, a cookie is placed on the customer's machine (if the customer accepts cookies) or is read if the customer has visited the site previously. Web beacons, also known as clear GIF technology or action tags, assist in delivering the cookie. This technology tells us how many visitors clicked on key elements (such as links or graphics) on a Pinion Software Web page. We do not use this technology to access your personally identifiable information on the Pinion Software site; it is a tool we use to compile aggregated statistics about Web site usage. We do not share tracking information outside of Pinion Software, and do not allow other companies to place clear GIFs on our sites. If you choose not to have your browser accept cookies from the Pinion Software Web site, you will still be able to view the site's content. If you have questions regarding this statement, you should first contact info@pinionsoftware.com.
